Finished one off the list, the second to be exact.
pattern: paper crane jacket from pattern magic vol. 2
material: grey cotton, papery, super lightweight
time: 1.5 days
overall:Incredibly simple pattern to draft. Period. You sorta have to wrap your mind around it first, but once it clicks, you're set. I actually sewed two of them, the first being insanely small (which I suspected would happen). We're calling that the "prototype" so I feel better about using the last of my first choice fabric. Sounds more intentional, right? One 15% increase later and it was spot-on. I was incredibly happy with the look of this fabric, although it doesn't feel as practical as I would like. If I love a piece of clothing, I want to wear it constantly. This feels more delicate and special. It goes with my favorite shoes and Japanese denim. Go figure. I'm definitely making a third, more durable jacket to completely ruin with everyday wear. Who wants to worry about spilling coffee on their nice jacket every day? It's a lovely pattern and very easy to keep making, so I will. In black, probably a lycra blend. Possibly scotchguarded.
ps: in case any of you noticed, yes I've already failed at #3 on my list. I want to be a better blogger, I want to be a better blogger....and repeat.
